Unlocking Value from Secondary Health Data

April 16th 2026, 12:30pm to 1:15pm

This 45-minute member-led webinar series shines a spotlight on the expertise, experience and innovation within our cluster community.

Each session features a cluster member sharing practical insights from a live project, a recent challenge, a research initiative or a real-world implementation. The focus is on learning from lived experience — what worked, what didn’t, key lessons, and tangible takeaways that others can apply.

There is a global demand for increased access to health data to improve population health, advance R&D, and utilise new technology to increase patient welfare and satisfaction. However, International sharing of data remains limited, and the opportunities to embrace innovation via data-sharing is un-realised.  The EU has introduced the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and the UK has adopted similar legislation.

The pathways to responsible health data sharing are slowly materialising and are expected to accelerate in the coming years, but there is limited knowledge and experience amongst ‘data-holders’ in the health and life science community of fair, transparent, and sustainable business models to do so, especially across International borders.

This session will be lead by Adrian Coyle of Takeda, and cluster members will:

  • Review existing Data-Sharing systems and legislation
  • Consider successful business models; How to add value to data.
  • Discuss real-world examples from various healthcare systems.

Open Discussion: What are members doing / intend to do to realise the value of their data, and/or access data?
